HarroComp: Friday 16th March

We are hosting our very first HarroComp on Friday 16th March!!

Come join us at HarroWall where you will get to have some fun while climbing some fantastic problems set by some World class setters. We’ll help you along with live music from our DJ’s and lots of prizes to be given away.

Fresh on the heels of The CWIF, we have IFSC head route-setter and all round setting legend Percy Bishton coming down to set alongside the Enigma that is Rob Napier and the multi-talented Liam Lonsdale (as well as our own team of in-house magicians).

Cost: £10 – includes entry to the wall and the competition. First 100 people get a FREE #HarroComp T-Shirt too.

Time: 1700 to 2100 (you can continue to climb afterwards but your scorecards should be handed in by this time if you want to be part of the prize / raffle draw – more info below)

Tenaya Shoe Demo all evening

Live music from our amazing DJ Shiggi

& more!!

Competition Format:

The HarroComp is made up of two parts.

FunComp: 25 problems from V0 to V5’ish that will be set on the Rhino (big freestanding boulder at reception) and Fontainebleau (beside auto-belays) areas

Main Comp: 35 problems from V0 to V??? that will be set on the Comp Wall.

HarroComp is an open style comp meaning anyone can do it. We have two age categories: U16 and Senior, further split by gender.

Apart from the prize of a big smile from climbing on fresh new problems and having a good time, we do have some great prizes up for grabs. From cash prizes to climbing shoes, no matter which comp you signed up for you have a chance to win.

We’ve got prizes from Scarpa, Tenaya, Catalyst ClimbingMFB Osteo Massage and more to give away. We’ve also lots of little mini-prizes to giveaway during the actual competition itself so there are lots of chances to walk away with something more than tired arms.

Main Comp Senior:

1st Prize: Male & Female – £100 cash each

2nd Prize: 10 entries to LCC London walls and a goody bag

3rd Prize: 5 entries to LCC London walls and a goody bag

Main Comp Junior:

1st Prize: Male & Female – 1 x FiveTen climbing shoes

3rd Prize: 2 entries to LCC London walls and a goody bag

How do I score?
For both the Fun and Main Comp, if you top a bloc on your first go you’ll get 10 points. If you top it on your second go, you’ll receive 7 points. Third go 4 points and four or more attempts 1 point. You will score these yourself. To be placed into the scoreboard and have a chance of winning, you must hand your scorecard in with your name (clearly written) and category choice, along with your D.o.B

How do I know how hard they are?
To put it simply, you don’t. Only the route setters know which makes it just as fun and less fixated on a number.

Where will I be able to see the scoreboard?
After the event and all the scores are counted. Over the following days, we’ll post it on the website and across our social channels
