If you have a child under the age of 18 then there are a number of ways they can climb at HarroWall.

If you or your child have never climbed before then booking a session with one of our instructors is the best way to get climbing. You can view availability and book online on our website here>> Please note that instructed sessions are for children who are only 6yrs and up.

Parent Supervising Children:

If your child wants to climb within our centre without an instructor then they MUST be supervised by an Adult who has passed our Bouldering Supervisor Assessment. This assessment can only be done at reception and by an Adult who is an experienced climber. If passed by our staff, then you can supervise up to a maximum of 2 children at any one time.

Have a read of the questions you will be asked during your assessment here>>

I can’t answer the questions as I’ve never climbed before but would like to supervise my children. What can I do?

As an Adult with no climbing experience you can book an instruction session that will teach you everything you need to know to get you climbing. You will also learn the necessary skills and knowledge to look after your children within the centre. For the first session you can even have your child (only if 6yrs and older) climb with you on the first session.

My child is under over 14yrs but not yet 18. What can they do?

As a Young Adult with no climbing experience you can book an instruction session that will teach them everything they need to know to get into climbing. They will learn the necessary skills and knowledge to climb safely within the centre.

If the child is 14 or 15, then an Adult must be present for the first 20mins of the session to understand the risks involved in bouldering. If the child is 16 or 17 then the child does not need a parent present but for all ages a Parent, or legal guardian, must fill in the registration form once the session is booked.

My child is under 6 yrs old, what can I do?

You can still bring them climbing but just not on the instructed session. Once you’ve passed the assessment then you will be able to supervise them within our bouldering centre
